Hawaii’s employment laws are some of the most comprehensive in the country.
As a member, you’ll benefit from having HEC assist you in understanding and navigating these laws if needed. You’ll also have access to numerous white papers, website links and guidebooks on topics ranging from wage and hour laws, wage garnishment, family and medical leaves of absence to the Affordable Care Act and many more. All information is presented in an accurate, easy-to-understand format.
Unique to HEC is our Legislative Digest. It keeps employers up-to-date on the status of State employment related bills and enacted legislation such as minimum wage, paycheck regulations, leaves of absence, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation, characteristics protected from discrimination and union organizing. Members also have access to HEC’s analysis of Hawaii legislation to better understand the impact of the bills so they can prepare for the changes ahead.
Members with federal contracts who must take affirmative action to recruit and advance qualified minorities, women, persons with disabilities and covered veterans may also use HEC as a resource to create a plan or evaluate their existing plan to ensure compliance with Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs’ (OFCCP) rules and regulations.
