HEC 2.0 - Organization and Talent Development

Hawaii Employers Council is excited to announce an expansion to the breadth of our services to meet increasingly complex member needs.  Our new Organization and Talent Development program will complement our Human Resources and Labor Relations consultation services. These services will assist member organizations in maximizing their overall effectiveness, culture, engagement and retention of productive employees.

As the program rolls out, HEC will offer public sessions and workshop on commonly requested topics and work with individual members to customize initiatives and programs to meet their organization's needs.  We will also work with members at a systems level for organization-wide impact, as well as at a more targeted level for talent development.

Focus areas will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leadership development
  • Change management
  • Strategic planning
  • Coaching approach for managers
  • Collaboration and professionalism
  • Constructive communication
  • Conflict resolution
  • Executive coaching
  • Team coaching

We look forward to partnering with our members on this important work.  We want to hear your thoughts and better understand your organization’s needs, and will conduct several member surveys to gather additional information.  In the coming weeks, please be on the lookout for the first survey, which will be a brief inquiry into leadership development.  A second, more comprehensive survey will be sent later in the fall.  Your survey responses will give valuable insight as we work to customize our overall organization and talent development offerings to member needs.  We appreciate your time and input.

In the meantime, please watch for the announcement of training sessions on popular topics so you can experience a sample of this new programming. For example, we will be presenting a session called “From Conflict to Resolution: A Practical Approach” on October 20.  The session will be led by Traci Manalani, who is working with us to launch our Organization and Talent Development program.  As a long-time resident of Kauai and Oahu, Traci understands the nuances of our communities and businesses.  Her professional background includes decades of organization development as both a leader and consultant, in addition to nearly twenty years of coaching experience with executives, teams and partners.
