Learn Tips for Recruiting and Motivating Employees at the HEC Annual Meeting on November 16

Hawaii Employers Council will host a morning briefing on recruiting and motivating employees at the Halekulani Hotel on Thursday, November 16.  The briefing will feature a session on “Recruiting in a Multi-Generational World” led by Marie Kumabe with Kumabe HR.  The session will give tips and strategies on refining recruiting strategies to ensure that they remain sensitive to distinct priorities, needs and desires of each demographic in the workforce.  A second session, “One Size Does NOT Fit All:  Motivating Employees for Peak Performance,” will be led by Traci Manalani with Practical Solutions for Sustainable Change.  This session will explore secrets to retaining high performers, including the power of motivation, its impact on retention and strategies that work for all types of organizations.
Hawaii Employers Council’s 74th Annual Meeting will immediately follow the morning briefing.  The Annual Meeting, which will occur at the Halekulani Hotel Ballroom, will feature Henk Rogers, Founder and Chairman, Blue Planet Foundation and Founder and CEO, Blue Planet Energy Systems.  Mr. Rogers will speak on “How I Went from Driving a Charley’s Taxi to Owning Tetris and Finding My Missions in Life.”  He is committed to the mission of stewarding the environment through developing non-carbon, clean energy sources.  He is also a global leader in the gaming industry.  One of his software companies holds the exclusive intellectual property rights to Tetris, the world’s most popular video game.  Mr. Rogers was responsible for bringing Tetris to the United States and world markets, after doing groundbreaking work in Japan to develop the country’s first role playing game.
