Organizational Development Manager

 

Primary Purpose

 

Partners with member companies to plan, design, coordinate, and facilitate high quality talent and professional development solutions to improve the desired skills of the member organization’s employees.

 

Essential Duties/Functions

 

  1. Assess training and organizational needs to help members understand the types of training and development solutions that will achieve their organization’s desired performance outcomes.
  2. Provides a broad range of consultative services related to organizational development, leadership and staff development, human resources, and soft-skills training solutions.
  3. Provides expertise in strategy development and execution, planning, and facilitation of leadership/professional development efforts.
  4. Oversees the planning, implementation, and ongoing development of all organizational development programs, including learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides, and lesson plans.
  5. Trains HR Consultants to conduct soft skills and OD-related training for member companies.
  6. Contributes to selected HEC publications, including, but not limited to, white papers and weekly news digest articles.
  7. Conduct and coordinate workshops and briefings to inform member companies about organizational development topics and trends.
  8. Provides on-site organizational development consulting to member companies as requested.

 

Non-Essential Duties

 

  1. May be responsible for the study and development of new member services relating to the human resource or organizational development function.
  2. Develops and maintains member relationships through new member orientation meetings and on-site member retention visits.
  3. Accompanies the Director of Member Relations on prospective and new member calls.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field, or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
  2. 7+ years of experience in human resource and/or OD management which includes increasing knowledge and responsibilities in training and development, organizational development, curriculum design, classroom facilitation, and human resource operations.
  3. Strong working knowledge of office computer programs, preferably Microsoft Office.
  4. Continually updates knowledge relating to procedures, standards, emerging best practices and trends in organizational development, adult learning theory, and training and development systems.
  5. Skilled in public speaking, training, and group facilitation.
  6. Communicates effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
  7. Service-oriented approach in communications and relations with members.
  8. Strong critical thinking skills and ability to understand and solve complex HR-related issues.
  9. Must have current driver’s license and ability to drive to member sites on Oahu, and travel to the Neighbor Islands for training and member visits.
